Here are just a few things to think about when traveling to the land of smiles.
Don’t do drugs
We can’t stress this enough. Most drugs in Thailand are illegal and the punishment can be quite harsh. So unless you are fond of spending time in over crowded and dirty cells, leave the dope at home.
Try street food, but be picky
Some of the street food available in Bangkok and throughout Thailand is absolutely amazing. However, not all street food is created equal. Or shall we say, with the most attention to quality and cleanliness. Be observant. Look at the food storage and prep. See what food stands have the most local customers. Then dive in.
Respect the royal family
This we also can’t stress enough. Disrespecting the monarchy can get you into some big trouble. This not only means in day to day conversations in the real world, but also in online forums, social media, etc. Also, never drop or stand on Thai currency, even if it’s caught in the wind and blowing away. Just try to chase it down and grab it with your hands.
Never touch anyone on the head
A person’s head is considered sacred in Thailand, so even giving someone a pat on the head or touching their hair could be frowned upon.
