There are many romantic places in Bangkok, but the rooftops around the city are tops and offer amazing views along with great music, drinks and food, which are bound to make any evening out with that special someone a night to remember.
Here are a few of our favorites …
Sirocco & Sky Bar
Sky Bar is the world’s highest open-air bar on the 64th floor of the State Tower located on Silom Road, Bang Rak business district, Bangkok, Thailand, the second tallest building in Thailand.
Above Eleven rooftop bar and restaurant overlooks Sukhumvit’s pulsating Soi 11 with stunning views of the Bangkok skyline from the 33rd and 34th floor of the Fraser Suites.
Octave Rooftop and Lounge is more than a place for watching the sunset or having a romantic meal. No rooftop bar in the city has a 360 degree view of Bangkok that matches this, and the top floor of this three level venue is the highest spot in the city for a party.
CRU Champagne Bar
Cru Rooftop Bar Bangkok is the highest and certainly one of the fanciest rooftop bars in Bangkok. It serves some exclusive labels of G.H. Mumm Champagne, a snack menu of world delicacies and offers its guests genuine 360 degree views of the city.
Sky on 20
Hidden in quiet Soi Sukhumvit 20, no one would expect the Novotel Hotel to have this lovely rooftop bar. The compact venue combines a laid-back ambiance and nice views with affordable drinks, and offers a cool spot to unwind on weeknights.
Vanilla Sky Rooftop Bar Bangkok offers the perfect spot for citywide views from Sukhumvit’s Phrom Phong area. Located on the 36th floor of Compass Skyview Hotel, the location of Vanilla Sky Bangkok is one of its real selling points, just a couple of doors down Sukhumvit Soi 24 from Emporium Shopping Mall and a few minutes’ walk from Phrom Phong BTS Station. The view is a genuine 360 degree vista, with the bustle of Sukhumvit Road and Benjasiri Park on one side and the Riverside and Sathorn on the other.
Attitude soars above the city with stunning views overlooking the Chao Phraya River and Bangkok’s skyline. Playful cocktails fashioned with bold flavours take on artistic flair. A crafted dining menu excites adventurous tastes. Mingle at the al fresco bar or embrace sophistication inside the art deco dining room. Gear up for a night of DJ beats and social entertainment.
The Speakeasy Hotel Muse takes you back to the 1920’s Prohibition era when illicit liquor was rolled in the back door by mobsters in Hench coats. Thankfully, you won’t be breaking any laws at this speakeasy, but authentic touches like a bath full of cocktails in jam jars and cool jazz playing in the background keep the vibe unique and funky. With great views over Sukhumvit and towards Sathorn, this rooftop is more unusual than most, but this isn’t just a skyline; the classic vintage cocktails are just as important as the view. Easy to find, Hotel Muse is on Langsuan, ten minutes from the BTS at Chit Lom.
360 bar at Millennium Hilton is possibly one of the best rooftop bars in Bangkok but surprisingly one of the least talked about. 31 floors might not be as high as some famous buildings in the city, but what the Hilton lacks in stature, it more than makes up with a view that surpasses almost all other rooftops.
Park Society and Hi-So Bar
Overlooking Lumpini Park from the 29th floor rooftop of the So Sofitel Bangkok Hotel, Park Society Terrace is a stylish restaurant and lounge bar in Sathorn area. The adjacent Park Society Terrace is a perfect place for post-dinner tête-à-têtes with a stunning panoramic view and to keep the fun times rolling. The view from the Hi-So longe bar located one floor above is even better. Ascending a flight of stairs and up the stairway to the city’s hottest parties, HI-SO has all the makings of an instant classic social hive for the fashionable and the fabulous set, where semi-private cabanas set the stage for starlit rendezvous.
Red Sky is a fancy rooftop bar and restaurant in Bangkok. While it doesn’t offer striking riverside or treetop views that other rooftop bars enjoy, it has pretty impressive 360-degree panoramic vistas from its 55th floor, one of the most convenient locations in town.
Brewski at Radisson Blu Plaza Bangkok is the city’s only rooftop craft beer bar. The view over Sukhumvit from 30 floors up is impressive, as is the unique concept of this vintage-inspired venue offering western pub food, a dozen beers and ciders on tap, and an incredible 100 craft brews. Brewski Bangkok is located on the rooftop of the Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel Bangkok, a five-minute walk from both the Asok BTS Skytrain station and the Sukhumvit MRT subway station.
Alfresco 64 – A Chivas Bar
Perched 800 feet in the air on the 64 floor of the Tower Club at lebua, Alfresco 64 – A Chivas Bar is the highest outdoor whisky bar in the world offering connoisseurs and luxury jetsetters the ultimate whisky drinking experience. Simply Exceptional!
Flûte A Perrier-Jouët Bar
Champagne’s greatest love story is scaling new heights in Bangkok with the wonderfully romantic Flûte A Perrier Jouët Bar at the Lebua Hotel. If you’re planning a proposal, you might want to check your fiancé-to-be doesn’t suffer from vertigo though – the bar on the 64th floor of the hotel is said to be the world’s highest champagne bar!
Vertigo and Moon Bar
Reaching for the clouds at Vertigo and Moon Bar on the 61st floor of the Banyan Tree hotel is one of the best ways to end a long day in Bangkok. There is no lack of rooftop bars in town but Vertigo has always been amongst the favourites. With an unusual narrow and elongated shape, the entire top of the building is occupied by both the bar and the restaurant and gives the unusual impression of being aboard a spaceship in the sky.
